The Department of Anatomical Sciences at Stony Brook University School of Medicine invites applications for an Instructor position, with primary teaching responsibilities in human gross anatomy to healthcare professional students. Position will begin May 2020. This is a one year renewable appointment. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis upon receipt.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in anatomy, evolutionary morphology, vertebrate morphology, systematics, physical anthropology or related field by the start date; and have completed a dissection-based course in human anatomy by start date. Preference will be given to those who have taught in a dissection-based human anatomy course. Candidates should have an ongoing research program and record of publication related the department’s current areas of research interest including functional and evolutionary morphology, comparative anatomy and phylogenetics.

Evaluation of candidates will begin in November 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.
