Assistant Professor of Clinical Integrative Anatomical Sciences (Human Anatomy)
The Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the non-tenure Clinical track. The position will begin July 1, 2020 or shortly thereafter. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have prior experience teaching human gross anatomy to health professional students. The primary responsibility will be to fulfill the department’s obligation for continued excellence in teaching human anatomy in a dissection-based course with a clinical emphasis in an integrated medical curriculum. Ability to contribute to the teaching of related anatomical sciences is desirable but not required (e.g., neuroanatomy, embryology, or histology). Applicants must also demonstrate a strong commitment to empirical scholarship in some area of the anatomical sciences and will be expected to develop and maintain a productive research program with the potential to attract extramural funding. We are especially interested in applications from scholars whose research complements that of the anatomy and histology faculty within the department, which includes a dynamic community of evolutionary morphologists.
Interested applicants are invited to begin their inquiry with the departmental website (https://keck.usc.edu/integrative-anatomical-sciences/), and questions for more information can be addressed to the Search Committee Chair, Dr. Kristi Lewton (anatomy.usc@gmail.com).
Applicants should submit a cover letter; curriculum vitae; statement of teaching experience; summary of research interests, accomplishments, and future plans; and contact information for 3-5 professional references including e-mail addresses (reference letters are not required at the time of application submission). The full application must be submitted electronically online through the Careers at USC portal at https://usccareers.usc.edu/job/los-angeles/assistant-professor-of-clinical-integrative-anatomical-sciences-human-anatomy/1209/13792406. In addition to the formal online submission process, applicants should send a copy of their submitted application materials (as a single PDF document) directed to Dr. Kristi Lewton, USC Anatomy Search Committee, at anatomy.usc@gmail.com. Review of applications will begin on November 22, 2019.
