PART-TIME LECTURER RECRUITMENT

The Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified, part-time, temporary lecturers to teach various courses in sociocultural anthropology, archaeology, and biological anthropology for potential openings. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the Department and may include our ANTH 2 Introductory Cultural Anthropology course of 550 students or ANTH 5 Introductory Biological Anthropology of 400 students. The Department seeks applicants for Summer Session and Fall quarter 2020, Winter 2021 and Spring 2021.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Anthropology or closely related field and a minimum of one quarter demonstrated teaching experience or service as a teaching assistant. Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD in Anthropology or a closely related field. The ideal finalist will have:

M.A. in Anthropology or closely related field required; PhD preferred Training in Sociocultural, Biological, or Archaeological anthropology; expertise and ability to teach in more than one of these is preferred 1 quarter teaching experience required; additional teaching experience preferred experience with learning management webpages based on Moodle, such as the Gauchospace platform used at UCSB. experience teaching large (n>100) classes experience working with Teaching Assistants To apply, please go to the following link: [https://apptrkr.com/1728046].
