Lecturer (full-time) in Biological Anthropology
The Department of Anthropology at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a one-year, full-time Lecturer position to begin August 1, 2020 contingent upon budgetary approval and department staffing needs. We seek a biological anthropologist who will add to and complement the existing curriculum. The teaching load is 3/3. The successful candidate will co-teach the lectures and labs for two sections of the introductory course on biological and archaeological anthropology, and offer three upper-division electives that focus on the candidate’s geographical and/or topical interests. Contingent on department needs, in lieu of one elective, teaching duties may include co-teaching one semester of the senior thesis seminar. Topics for electives might include, but are not limited to: bioarchaeology, paleoanthropology, race and human variation, and/or human biology.
A Ph.D. in hand by the start of the position is required, and previous teaching experience is preferred. To apply, please send a cover letter that addresses your teaching and research interests and experiences, curriculum vitae, sample syllabi (no more than 3), and names and contact information (including email addresses) of three references via Interfolio at http://apply.interfolio.com/73173. Review of applications will begin on February 24, 2020 and continue until the position is filled.
