This position provides tremendous opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and professional development within and across disciplines. The successful candidate will join a team of anatomy educators whose primary responsibilities involve teaching the foundational anatomical disciplines in our integrated medical curriculum. At UMMS, anatomy is taught using a combination of cadaveric dissection, prosection, 3D models, virtual anatomy and simulation technology. Applicants should show evidence of engagement and productivity in the scholarship of Anatomy education by dissemination of their work through peer-reviewed publications or presentations, and by involvement in regional and national level organizations. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree (or equivalent) and demonstrated excellence in didactic and dissection-based teaching in the full regional spectrum of medical gross anatomy. Experience teaching related disciplines (i.e., neuroanatomy and/or physiology) is desirable, yet not required. Applicants at all levels of experience will be considered. UMass Medical School faculty appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
