IRC85465 Job Title Lecturer (Biological Anthropology Division) AC08 Organization Name Anatomical Sciences Department Description The School of Anatomical Sciences wishes to appoint a Lecturer in the field of Biological Anthropology as broadly conceived to include human biological variation, growth and development, paleoanthropology, skeletal biology and forensic anthropology. It is expected that the appointee will meaningfully contribute to the teaching, research and course development of the School. Experience in the teaching of Morphological (Gross) Anatomy is highly desired. The School is research orientated and has well-equipped laboratories.

Brief Posting Description Responsibilities: Teaching of Biological Anthropology (Human Biology) to undergraduate science and health sciences students; teaching of Morphological Anatomy to under- and postgraduate medical, allied medical disciplines and science students; administration of courses; supervision of postgraduate students; generation of research grants and publications and participation in the academic activities of the School and the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Qualifications and experience: A degree in Anatomy or Biological Anthropology with an appropriate MSc degree or an MSc/PhD is required. Experience in teaching in a Health Sciences context is essential. A proven track record in research will be an advantage.

Remuneration: Dependent on qualifications and experience. The package includes a provident fund, medical aid and bursaries for self and dependents, subject to University regulations.
