We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s diverse student body as a Lecturer of the Department of Anthropology beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Department of Anthropology invites applications for a 3-Year Full-Time Lecturer position beginning on 1 September 2023. The department seeks a candidate who can teach introductory-level courses in biological anthropology and at least one other subdiscipline (sociocultural and/or archaeology) and, possibly, upper-division courses in the candidate’s sub-field of specialization. Preference will be given to candidates who have documented evidence of teaching excellence (in-person and online). Incomplete applications will not be considered. Teaching assignments will be located on both Edinburg and Brownsville campuses. Selected candidates will be required to provide official transcripts from all degree-granting universities.
