Forensic/Biological Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in forensic/biological anthropology at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a preferred effective start date of January 1, 2016, subject to final budgetary approval. Candidates should hold a PhD in forensic anthropology or biological anthropology, demonstrate an excellence in both teaching and research; and participate actively in service. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in forensic and biological anthropology. The Department of Anthropology at UNBF offers a comprehensive MA program in all three sub-fields of anthropology and is the only department in the Canadian Maritimes to offer a graduate program with a biological/medical anthropology option. We expect the successful candidate to develop a competitive, externally-funded research program in forensic/biological anthropology involving graduate students; contribute towards existing interdisciplinary programs in health and biomedical studies; and build local capacity by training students in forensics and support services to private consulting firms as well as law enforcement branches.

Candidates should forward a letter of application describing their teaching and research interests, curriculum vitae, and arrange to have three confidential letters of recommendation sent to:
