Research Assistant Position
Research Assistant Position: Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, Glendale, AZ
A Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Anatomy at Midwestern University, Glendale, AZ. Midwestern University is a private; not-for-profit institution dedicated to training health-care professionals, and is rapidly expanding its research portfolio. Research Assistants provide technical support to Anatomy faculty members in relation to their research projects and grants. Work is performed under the direct supervision of Anatomy faculty members and reports to the Chair of the Department of Anatomy. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University. Prior research experience is preferred, but not necessary. Responsibilities will include managing a lab, utilizing MS Office programs (Word, Excel) and data processing / analysis. Specifically, the successful applicant will have experience in several of the following areas:
• Experience with software for visualizing / analyzing 3D data (examples include: AMIRA / AVIZO, Geomagic, and ImageJ)
• Perform digital image analysis
• Performs wide variety of standard research procedures with supervision
• Graphs and analyzes data with supervision
• Adheres to laboratory safety procedures
• Involved in standard maintenance of the lab
• Obtains quotes and performs ordering and receiving duties for lab supplies
In addition, the successful applicant will:
• Provide basic laboratory support to faculty and students as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned
