The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNT Health) in Fort Worth, TX invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position. This position will combine team-taught instruction of dissection-based gross anatomy to medical students with faculty-mentored research. Applicants are encouraged to contact current anatomy faculty to discuss potential research collaborations (e.g., Drs. Elizabeth Cho, Rebecca Cook, Lauren Gonzales, Kate Lesciotto, Scott Maddux, Rachel Menegaz).

Research strengths in the Center for Anatomical Sciences include biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, forensic sciences, biomechanics/functional morphology, and histology. The Center encompasses a 30,000-square-foot facility that supports anatomical education, research, and outreach. The Center also houses dedicated research laboratories equipped for medical imaging analysis/morphometrics, forensic anthropology, thermoregulatory studies (environmental chamber), histology, and paleontological fossil preparation. Additional information about the Center for Anatomical Sciences is available at: www.unthsc.edu/anatomicalsciences.

Applicants should upload a cover letter, CV, and the names and contact information for three references to the UNT Health application portal at: https://careers.untsystem.edu/jobs/513796 (references are not automatically contacted).

In their cover letter, applicants should 1) identify a potential research mentor (or co-mentors) from among the anatomy faculty, and 2) outline their previous coursework/teaching experience in dissection-based gross anatomy. Questions regarding the position can be directed to the chair of the search committee, Dr. Elizabeth Cho, at anatomyjob@unthsc.edu.

This position has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Applicants will ideally have a PhD or equivalent degree in hand by this date but exceptional ABD candidates will be considered. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
