Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately at Hünemeier’s Lab, Institute of Biosciences, University of São Paulo, Brazil, to work on the population genomics of Indigenous Americans. The project aims to analyze the complete genomes of individuals who lived between 10,000 and 100 years ago across different regions of the South American lowlands.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Evolutionary Biology, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field. Strong experience in bioinformatics and next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis in a Cloud computing environment is essential, as well as a solid background in population genomics. Prior experience in archaeogenetics is highly desirable. Proficiency in Linux/Unix and scripting languages (Python and R) is also required.
Salary:
• Net salary: US$ 2,000/month
• Additional funding: US$ 2,400 annually (for fieldwork, travel, and conferences)
Duration:
24 months
