The Department of Anthropology seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor (academic -year appointment) for 2026-27 Academic year in the Department of Anthropology with teaching obligations for a large and growing undergraduate major in Human Biology. We seek a biological anthropologist able to teach lab sections for Human Anatomy and Physiology (AANT 316/AANT 318), as well as upper-level courses in Biological Anthropology/Human Biology. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience and research interests that complement existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of three courses per semester.

Primary Responsibilities:

Teaching lab sections for Human Anatomy and Physiology (AANT 316/ AANT 318), as well as upper-level courses in Biological Anthropology/Human Biology, or other courses as assigned.
University, College, Department Service and other reasonable duties as assigned.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

Reports to: Department Chair
May supervise employees as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree or terminal degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally accrediting organization.
Experience teaching at the college or university level.
Experience in teaching human anatomy and physiology at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree or terminal degree in Biological Anthropology, Biology or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Experience in teaching undergraduates in Biological Anthropology, Biology or related discipline.
Working Environment:

Typical office, classroom, and instructional laboratory environment
