The Statement affirms AAAS’s strong commitment to scientific freedom and responsibility, as well as the critical link between these two principles. It is supported by a web portal of rich resources, including translations and posters of the Statement, articles and other materials on scientific freedom and responsibility globally, and information on AAAS's initiatives in this area.
Of course, challenges and ambiguities in the context of everyday science can give rise to complicated issues in relation to scientific freedom and responsibility. The materials on the web portal are intended to support and inform discussion among scientists, students, policy makers and others as they navigate those challenges and ambiguities.
