Call for Participants: Survey on Adult Female Primates Without Infants

Submitted 08/10/2026 by Alexandra E. Kralick

Primate field researchers are invited to take part in a survey on adult female non-human primates without infants and how these females are observed, documented, and reported across primate field sites.

The survey is aimed at researchers who manage, or have managed, long-term primate field site data and have knowledge of female reproductive patterns at their site. It covers observations of females without infants, data documentation and reporting practices, and perceptions of publication norms and theoretical frameworks in primatology.

Your insights will help us understand female behavioral and reproductive variation, improve life-history models and demographic accuracy, and examine how research practices and disciplinary norms shape what gets recorded and published.

The survey takes about 15-20 minutes. Participation is voluntary and confidential, and no identifying information about you or your field site will be published. You may give your name if you would like your work cited or would like to be involved in future research, but this is optional.
