Human Osteology Field School
Submitted 21/10/2026 by Katherine Weisensee

What can 30,000 skeletons reveal about life in the past? Explore human history through a hands-on program at the University of Szeged in Hungary. Working with ancient archaeological skeletons, you will learn how bioarchaeologists and forensic anthropologists use skeletal evidence to reveal stories of people’s lives and deaths.
Gain practical hands-on experience with one of the world’s largest collections of human skeletons while developing expertise in human osteology and forensic anthropology methods. Examine evidence of disease and traumatic injury seldom encountered outside this exceptional experience.
